説明

Abstract 1. 1. In the carp, Cyprinus carpio , the P 50 was found to be 11. l Torr at 25°C and pH 7.9. The Bohr effect of −0.57 was also found. 2. 2. Arterial CO 2 tension increased linearly with the CO 50 tension of inspired water (P Ico 2 ), causing a corresponding decrease in arterial pH (pHa). 3. 3. Despite the decrease in pHa, O 2 saturation of hemoglobin in arterial blood was maintained at the normocapnic level up to a P co 2 of 60 Torr. 4. 4. The specific ventilatory flow rate changed little at a P Ico 2 of 4–15 Torr and increased at a P Ico 2 of 15–120 Torr. 5. 5. Arterial O 2 tension (PaO 2 ) increased with P Ico 2 and remained stable (around 90 Torr) at a P Ico 2 of 40–120 Torr. 6. 6. It is suggested that the blood oxygenation is maintained mainly by an increase in PaO 2 during short-term hypercapnia and that there are important mechanisms to increase PaO 2 other than hyperventilation during hypercapnia.
