Description
In future, an ultra large space antenna which has a 1km class diameter will he needed. Such an antenna consists of many small aperture elements, because of advantage in transportation and construction. The gaps between apertures lead to degrade the characteristics of the array antenna. In this paper, in order to improve the characteristics of the aperture array antenna, we compose the model antenna which consists of two standard pyramidal horns and parasitic elements. The antenna aperture efficiency is improved 10% at maximum by loading 10 parasitic elements. The validity of the experimental results and analysis method is shown.
