Description

In pronominal system of ASL, referents (peoples, things, places) are established to a specific locations in the signing space. Then those locations serve as pronoun. A verb, in ASL, can include information about the subject and object of the verb. This information is contained in the location part of the verb on in the orientation part, or sometimes in both the location and orientation parts. In a sentence that contains directional verb, the subject and the object are not uttered explicitely. To get the information, signer should refers to the location in singing space. So, only with the constituent of the sign language - hand shape, hand location, palm orientation and hand movement, it is difficult to recognize and analyze the ASL on a computer because there are many ellipsis words. For that reason, it is needed to consider the location and the orientation simultaneously with signing space. Therefore, we analyzed the ASL, with considering that the signing space, the location and the orientation of directional verb.
