Description
The electromagnetic field in dual-and triple-mode rectangular waveguide bandpass filters is studied by using the high-frequency structure simulator (HFSS). Equivalent circuits of dual-and triple-mode resonators are derived based on the EM field variation behavior. Bandpass filters are designed by using the derived equivalent circuits, and their characteristics are simulated by the microwave and RF design system (MDS). Desired filter characteristics are obtained. The relation of the field distribution in the resonator to the equivalent circuit is studies by using HFSS and MDS.
