Description
The optical inter-orbit link(IOL)is important technology for future space activities.National Space Development Agency of Japan(NASDA)has started to develop Optical Inte-r-orbit Communications Engineering Test Sateffite(OICETS).The purpose of OICETS is to experiment mainly the technology concerning the precise acquisition, tracking and pointing of very narrow optical beams for optical IOL. The experiment is going to be performed under the international collaboration between NASDA and European Space Agency(ESA),and the partner of the experiment is ESA′s Advanced Relay Technology Missi on Satellite(ARTEMIS)on the geostationary earth orbit. This paper discusses the outline of OICETS system and the planed optical IOL experiment.
