Description
The analytical least-squares approach for Multi-dimensional FIR digital filters are proposed. In the conventional approaches there are strong constraints, which is that desired frequency responses have to be given in an overall frequency region. In this paper, the proposed method allows us to define 'transition band' (not care band) by applying Gram-Schmidt's orthogonalization to construct a system of orthogonal functions. Then, the least square solution can be obtained analytically. We describe the way of applying Gram-Schmidt's orthogonalization to IIR filter design.
