Description
The purpose of this study is to clarify the fact of use for the signs in the stations and users' demands for those. The questionnaire survey was done to the users and the station staff. The result is as follows : 1. Satisfaction conceming the floor plans is low. 2. The users think that the expression in directional signs is too difficult. 3. It is hoped that the distance to the destination is displayed in signs and that a stations on the way are displayed in the starting timetable. 4. The competition of the signs, the advertisements and the store signboards were enumerated as a reason why the direction signs are not found easily. 5. There are some signs with difficult distinctions because similar colors are used. 6. The possibility of various guide displays was confirmed; for instance, the information office and the printed floor guide.
