Description
Facial appearance is usually improved after orthodontic treatment. Lateral cephalometric radiographs and lateral and frontal photos were used to assess this change. Computer graphics were used to investigate the effect of orthodontic treatment on the facial expressions. Comparing pretreatment and posttreatment images of a maxillary protrusion patient, happiness was expressed in a deeper way after than before treatment. The relatives and friends of treated patients noticed the improvement on facial and dental appearance, and appreciated the increased social activity after orthodontic treatment.
