Description
In the grinding process, the wear of the grinding wheel forms a wavy surface. The growth rate of the wavy wear is important, because it causes the irregular surface of workpieces. Therefore, we have to find the conditions, which minimize the wavy wear and optimize the time between wheel dressing cycles. The wavy wear on the grinding wheel can be considered as the pattern formation phenomena. The authors propose a simplified model with time delay to analyze the stability of the vibration of the grinding machine that causes the wavy wear.
