Description

In the situation of the dialogue, prosody has some essential functions. The first is to indicate the semantic structure of the utterance. The second is the real-time control information for dialogue. The third is as the information of speaker's psychological situations. In this paper, we report about some characteristics of the prosody from the viewpoints of the second and third function in a spontaneous spoken Japanese dialogue. These results will be useful to deverop the spoken dialogue human-machine interface system which should not obstruct the user's consideration for his task.
