Description
This paper describes a real-time positioning system that enables a user to know the situation of a remote user easily in wide areas. This system uses GPS(Global Positioning System), an omni-directional camera, a microphone to get the information of a remote user, and a wireless broadband network. The user can see the remote user's position on the map that is automatically tracked by using GPS, and can watch the remote user's view as well as the scene around the remote user generated from omni-directional videos interactively. Furthermore, both users can communicate with each other by voice. The proposed system presents the position, video, and audio information simultaneously for remote user-centered surveillance and monitoring.
