Description

NMIJ has been developed a new method for calibrating impedance of test instrument with vector network analyzer. Five specific transfer standards are needed with the method. The merit is that the Si traceability is established for both magnitude and phase of impedance and calibration analysis is easier using the standards. As a demonstration of the method, impedance of artificial mains network was calibrated from 150 kHz to 30 MHz to judge assessments of the compliance with CISPR 16-1-2. The expanded uncertainties of magnitude and phase of impedance were approximately one hundredth of the tolerances in CISPR 16-1-2.
