Control Method to Reduce Current Ripple of Boost Chopper Suitable for NPC Inverter

This paper proposes a control method to reduce a current ripple of a boost chopper, which is suitable for Neutral-Point-Clamped (NPC) inverter. The inductor current ripple is analyzed by the state space averaging method. In this paper, two control methods (the correction type and the cross type) are compared. The results of this paper revealed the superiority of the cross type to reduce the inductor current ripple. The validity of the analysis is confirmed by simulation and experiment.
