説明
A 44-year-old man had an episode of nephrotic syndrome in March 1992. Secondary amyloidosis based on multiple myeloma was diagnosed. Bone scintigraphy showed abnormal accumulation in the liver and spleen. In 1994, at the time of his death, histopathologic analysis of the liver showed marked amyloid deposition in a trabecular pattern associated with pericellular deposition of calcium. Bone scintigraphy is useful to detect amyloid infiltration with calcium deposition. An established theory cannot be obtained for the histologic finding of amyloid liver with calcification. The histologic findings of this case included marked amyloid deposition in a trabecular pattern associated with pericellular deposition of calcium in the liver. Liver cell plates underwent atrophy and the sinusoids are narrowed. To the authors' knowledge, this is a rare occurrence.
