Femtosecond two-color pulse interferometry for the measurement of glucose concentration

説明
An optical measurement method for the determination of glucose concentration by femtosecond two-color pulse interferometry (FTPI) has been described. This method uses difference of propagation time for two-color pulse light (800 nm and 400 nm) in the glucose solution due to the refractive index dispersion. Resultant accuracy of the glucose concentration measurement is 30 mg/dl. To evaluate the influence of optical scattering on the actual measurement in blood, intralipid solution of various concentrations was measured by FTPI. We demonstrated that FTPI reduces influence of the multiple scattering effectively.
