Design And Development Of A Miniature Stirling Engine
Description
In order to enhance the applicability of a m Stirling engine thermodynamic and mechanical analysis, a small size engine, SDOI, has been developed. The SDOI engine is a single-acting displacer type. The 1989 SDOI engine achieved a maximum output power of 4 W at 0.1 MPa mean engine pressure and 900 rpm iston speed. It became clear that the measuring and prediction results had same behavior of an output being: power curve at 0.1 MPa. For the purpose of increasing the advantage of the SDO1 engine, a simple cylindrical cam was selected for the small and light engine mechanism design. With the aid of the cylindrical cam mechanism, the mass of the engine without combustion system decreased to approximately 500 g.
