説明
A self-spouting and vacuum nebulizing assisted interface was newly developed for the direct coupling of a micro-liquid chromatograph and a mass spectrometer (LC/ MS). The effluent from the micro-LC is enforced to spout through a glass capillary nozzle with 12 μm i.d. The self-spouting effluent is finely nebulized and desolvated by heating under vacuum. A portion of the enriched mist or vapor of the effluent is continuously introduced into the chemical ionization source of a quadrupole mass spectrometer to monitor the mass spectra and/or the mass chromatograms of the sample solutes. The newly constructed LC/MS system was successfully applied to various thermally labile and/or polar compounds such as polyethylene glycols, vitamins and saccharides.
