説明
A catheter inserted into the femoral artery for the measurement of arterial blood pressure and blood removal in DM rats. Seventy-two hours after the operation, the arterial catheter was connected to a pressure transducer and Systolic blood pressure (SBP) and heart rate (HR) were continuously recorded. The low-frequency component of SBP (SBP-LF) and high-frequency component of HR (HR– HF) were calculated with Wavelet method. SBP-LF is a marker of sympathetic activity and HR–HF, parasympathetic activity. After the measurement of baseline value, 1.2 ml of blood that is about 6% of circulating blood volume was removed. This procedure was repeated 8 times at 15 min interval. Hemodynamic and autonomic parameters were measured immediately, 5,10 min after the blood removal and were compared with each pre-removal value. The same experiment was performed in Wistar Kyoto rats (WKY).
