<jats:title>Abstract</jats:title><jats:p>Linear polypentamethyleneurethan oligomers, A[O(CH<jats:sub>2</jats:sub>)<jats:sub>5</jats:sub>NHCO]<jats:sub>n</jats:sub>OCH<jats:sub>3</jats:sub> (A = H or Ac), up to the octamers were synthesized and their physical properties were studied. The synthesis of acetoxy terminated oligomers was carried out by stepwise addition of 5‐acetoxypentyl isocyanate with a preceding hydroxy terminated oligomer. The acetoxy terminated oligomers were hydrolyzed to give corresponding hydroxy terminated oligomers.</jats:p>
