説明

Abstract Continuing to the experimental studies reported in Part I, the corresponding theoretical studies are performed to clarify the whole aspect of the title problem. The Donnell's basic equations are used and practically accurate solutions are obtained under the completely clamped boundary conditions, by applying the Galerkin procedure with a large number of unknown parameters. Calculations are carried out under the same geometrical and loading conditions as those in the experiment. Through direct comparisons, the typical postbuckling characteristics here obtained are ascertained to be in reasonable agreement with those reported in Part I, which seems to indicate not only the validity of the present theoretical analyses but also the preciseness of the previous experimental works.
