Description

Abstract All of the four possible stereoisomers (ca. 95 % e.e.) of 5-hydroxy-4-decanolide (L-factors), the proposed autoregulator from Streptomyces griseus , were synthesized from (±)-1-octen-3-ol in two or four steps employing the Sharpless asymmetric epoxidation as the keystep.
