説明
Recently, activated protein C resistance (APCR) has been described as a new familial thrombophilia in which anticoagulant activity of activated protein C (APC) is impaired likely due to a single point mutation of factor V (1,2). According to several recent reports (3,4,5), the prevalence of APCR is very high in normal population as well as in patients with deep vein thrombosis (DVT). However, all the data related to APCR have derived from Westerners and no information is available on APCR in other countries and races. Therefore, attempts were made to investigate the incidence of APCR in patients with DVT and healthy subjects in Osaka. Also, the influence of warfarin administration on the screening was investigated.
