Description
In this paper, we attempted to clarify the adaptability of Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) to measure the flow velocity distribution and the number density distribution of the excited nuclei in an magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) channel using the Echo Planar Imaging (EPI). In this numerical study, we assumed that the MHD combustion gas was in a chemical equilibrium and the pressure in the measurement cross section was obtained. Under these conditions, we investigated a presumption method for the temperature distribution by using the number density distribution of the excited nuclei. The results were as follows. The velocity distribution and the number density distribution of the excited nuclei could be measured accurately. Moreover, the temperature distribution calculated by using the number density distribution agreed with the temperature distribution analyzed by using the 3D MHD computer code relatively.
