説明
1. 1. Adductor posterior mandibular muscle in the crayfish, Procambarus clarkii, was investigated electrophysiologically. 2. 2. The muscle consisted of muscle fibers with 12 μm long sarcomeres. 3. 3. Electrical constants of the muscle fibers were in the range of those of slow-contracting muscle fiber. 4. 4. Tension depended on amplitude and duration of depolarization. All-or-none action potential was not elicited by direct stimulation. 5. 5. Spontaneous relaxation followed contracture in high K+ solution. 6. 6. Results suggested that the muscle contributed to the crushing function of the mandible, but the crushing power could not be maintained for a long time.
