Stable lightwave synthesized frequency sweeper for the 1.5 μm band

We realized a stable lightwave synthesized frequency sweeper for the 1.5 /spl mu/m band by using a Fabry-Perot cavity composed of two Faraday rotator mirrors. We show its high stability of the frequency sweep span which is very important for WDM networks.
