Error spectrum shaping in 2-D discrete systems based on the Fornasini-Marchesini second model

Description

Based on the Fornasini-Marchesini second model, error spectrum shaping is considered in 2-D state-space digital filters. An N-order diagonal error feedback, which consists of a FIR digital filter with integer coefficients, is used to reduce the output quantization noise. The suboptimal integer error-feedback coefficients are found by applying a least squares discrete space optimization procedure. Finally, a numerical example is given to illustrate the utility of the proposed technique.
