Description
Abstract Hydroxamates of peptides were formed from some peptides by incubating with pH5 enzyme, hydroxylamine and ATP. l -Leucyl- l -tyrosyl-hydroxamate was identified by paper chromatography. The formation of glycyl- l -leucyl-hydroxamate was dependent on ATP. ATP was formed from the synthesized glycyl- l -leucyl-adenylate and pyrophosphate by incubating with the same enzyme. These results show that some peptides could be activated enzymically.
