説明
It is well known that various anions are doped as counter ions into positively charged polypyrrole films by the electropolymerization of pyrrole [l]. The aniondoping property of polypyrrole can be utilized to attach special functions to polypyrrole films by using anionic functional molecules as the dopants [2]. So far, anions which are soluble in water or polar organic solvents have been chosen as the counter anions of polypyrrole. However, insoluble colloidal particles may serve as dopants, if they are negatively charged in an electrolytic bath. The present study has been initiated with this idea in mind. In this paper, the achievement of the electrochemical doping of colloidal Prussian Blue (hereafter abbreviated as PB) into polypyrrole films will be described, together with the doping conditions and the redox behaviour of the resulting PB-doped polypyrrole in aqueous alkali metal chloride solutions.
