New thermoelectric oxide and electronic structures
Description
We investigated ferromagnetic oxide of Sr/sub 2/FeMoO/sub 6/ as thermoelectric material from the view point of electronic structures using computer simulation and experimental method. Sr/sub 2/FeMoO/sub 6/ is well known a double perovskite with a half metallic structure. Our experimental results showed that the Seebeck coefficient was 15 /spl mu/ V/K and electrical resistivity was 2 /spl times/ 10/sup -4/ /spl Omega/ m at 700K. Furthermore, we proposed the estimation of Seebeck coefficient from electronic structures using ab initio calculation and experimental value of electric resistivity, and thermodynamics such as heat capacity and entropy relating to spin were also taken into consideration.
