On the Origin of the c5Dip

説明

On the basis of the anatomical peculiarity of the cochlear vascular distribution and of the functional element of the acoustic tympanic muscle reflex, as well as from blood pressure variation during intense sound stimulation, the origin of the c5 dip has been discussed from the experimental findings in various respects. Concerning the c5 impairing factor by intense sound stimulation during the auditory fatigue experiment in human subjects, ischemia in the basal turn of the cochlea as an immediate cause of the c5 dip has been deduced. In the author's opinion, the c5 dip has a characteristic universality, which makes it possible to elucidate monistically other inner ear injuries as well as acoustic trauma.
