Triplet quenching effect in tunable dye lasers

Description

Abstract In flashlamp exciting tunable dye lasers with oxygen, the effect of triplet quenching on the generation of laser photon fluxes is studied on the basis of the coupled rate equations of Juramy et al. modified to include the triplet states. By evaluating the modified rate equations, the wavelength dependence of laser photon fluxes is investigated as a function of the pumping rate, the triplet lifetime and the dye concentration.
