Photonic Energy Transport And Switching In Photoresponsible Lb Films
説明
Multilayered LB films, stacking monomolecular layers containing several k inds of cyanine dyes and spiropyran, were prepared such that the layer-tolayer sequential excitation transport occurs through the FGrster dipole-dipole interaction. The fluorescences are emitted s uccessively f rom respective layers during 0.5-1 ns, associated with the excitation t ransfer from the outer surface to the inner l ayer. When a photochromic LB monolayer such as spiropyranlmeroc yanine is incorporated in the LB multilayers, the excitation transport sequence is switched depending on UV or visible light irradiation. As a result, t he fluorescence intensities of particular layers a re changed following irradiation of UV or green light. This t ype of LB films may function as an optical switching device.
