<jats:title>Abstract</jats:title><jats:p>The reaction of ethoxydihydropyrans <jats:bold>2</jats:bold>, which were prepared from 2‐methylene‐1,3‐dicarbonyl compounds <jats:bold>1</jats:bold> with ethyl vinyl ether, and hydroxylamine hydrochloride gave 4‐cyanoethylisoxazoles <jats:bold>3</jats:bold> whose substituents at the 3 and 5 positions were transformed from substituent at the 2 position and the acyl group of <jats:bold>2</jats:bold> regioselectively.</jats:p>
