Description
The paper deals with the vibrotactile stimulus. The functional properties of the vibratory sensation of skin were studied in regard to an aid for the blind by means of psychophysical experiments with respect to the contactor size, various vibratory waves and the 2-point threshold. The 2-point threshold obtained by using both the electrical and mechanical stimulus changed to a smaller value by 0·5 mm at 200 Hz compared with that found using only a mechanical stimulus.
