Analyze motion texture in dance motion using self-organized criticality

Description

For the purposes of treatment and prevention of injuries, it is required a detailed understanding of the motion texture exhibited in the fields of biomechanics, biomedical engineering, medicine and dance medicine. We are studying a new method to analyze and reconstruct human motions from motion capture data and extract the characteristics of motion texture. We propose to analyze one of characteristics of dance motion, self-organized criticality (SOC), using the developing complexity theory. We hope the extracted motion texture will give dancers, trainers and dancers' physicians some advices preventing dance injuries. On the other hand, we know the ability of cerebral recognition is limited, from our assumption of SOC and executing chi-square test, it is considerable that human being can recognize 35-45 primitive dance motion patterns.
