Description

Abstract 1. 1. The haemolymph volume of Daphnia magna was estimated by measuring the haemoglobin concentration. 2. 2. The haemolymph volume of female D. magna of 2.5mm body length was 0.68μl, which corresponded to 58% of the wet weight of the animal. 3. 3. The body volume of D. magna was measured by the dye dilution method. The haemolymph volume amounted to 61% of the body volume.
