説明

In Japan, the primary causes of death in adults are changing. One fundamental characteristic of this change is the coronary heart disease (CHD) mortality rate. It is well known that the Western lifestyle of developed, industrial societies leads to ill effects on child health due to increasing risk factors for atherosclerosis. To improve current child and future adult health, preliminary screening projects for hyperlipidemia were begun in the Tokyo urban area in 1975 and currently are spreading country-wide. In this presentation, our experiences in this Tokyo urban area in 1980, 1981, and 1982 will be described.
