Description
In a study of the reaction K+ p → K* (890)π+ p at 12 GeV/c it has been shown that the extrapolated moments in thet channel for the π+ p system do not agree very well with those calculated from the real π+ p elastic scattering phase shifts for π+ p effective masses larger than 1.4 GeV, and that theQ is dominant in this region even for very small momentum transfer. In the present work it is shown that a simple parametrization of theQ leads to a considerably better description of the extrapolated 〈Y 0 2 〉, 〈Y 0 3 〉 and 〈Y 0 4 〉 moments. Furthermore it is shown that the dominance of theQ in this region will lead to high order moments at low mass in thes-channel frame.
