説明
Although pulmonary embolism during or after spinal anesthesia is very rare, it has been reported in two orthopedic cases fol lowing hip fracture'>". Acute onset of dysp nea, tachypnea, chest pain, cyanosis, tachy cardia, and hypotension suggest pulmonary embolism, however, pulmonary radioisotope scan and pulmonary angiography are re quired for the definitive diagnosis. A case of severe hypoxia following spinal anesthesia, in a patient whose disease was diagnosed as pulmonary embolism a few weeks after surgery by lung scan, is presented here.
