All digital transmitter scheme and transceiver design for pulse-based ultra-wideband radio
Description
This paper describes a new transmitting scheme which doesn't need a pulse generator and hardware design for pulse-based ultra-wideband radio avoiding expensive and power hungry analog components especially at transmitter. The transmitter, which was implemented in 0.18 /spl mu/m CMOS technology, was 40 /spl mu/W average power simulated by HSPICE at 1 M pulse per second and 1 GHz bandwidth. The simplified pulse generation scheme at the transmitter was proposed. In the board experiment, the received signal was multiplied at mixer as an ideal by template pulse generated by second order RC filter. Moreover, the whole analog component of the receiver was simulated by MATLAB, and the usefulness was confirmed.
