<jats:p>To present a case of recurrent laryngeal nerve paralysis after laparoscopic surgery.</jats:p><jats:p>A 26‐year‐old nulligravid woman.</jats:p><jats:p>The patient underwent laparoscopic left ovarian cystectomy and myomectomy under general anaesthesia. A few hours later, she complained of throat discomfort and hoarseness. Indirect laryngoscopy showed an immobile left vocal cord. The hoarseness continued for 4 weeks.</jats:p><jats:p>Recurrent laryngeal nerve paralysis might present as a complication of laparoscopic surgery under general anaesthesia.</jats:p>
