<jats:p>The rhythmic contraction of our heart is controlled by electrical impulses that travels throughout the cardiac muscle. The signal is generated by the sinus node, which can be thought of as the natural pacemaker of our heart. This impulse spreads from its initiation in the SA node throughout the atria through specialized internodal pathways, to the atrial myocardial contractile cells and the atrioventricular node.This term paper reviews the anatomy of SA node, Action potential and the impulse propagation through cardiac muscles.</jats:p>
