Anti-phase domains and charge ordering on epitaxial magnetite films studied by spin-polarized scanning tunneling microscopy

Description

The structural properties of the antiphase domain boundaries and their role on the charge ordering of epitaxial Fe/sub 3/O/sub 4/(001) film surfaces on the atomic scale is investigated using scanning tunneling microscopy (STM) and spin-polarized STM. The experiments were performed in an ultrahigh vacuum system.
