Abstract We report the specific heat of the filled skutterudite compound PrRu 4 As 12 down to 0.2 K . The temperature dependence of the specific heat divided by temperature C / T in PrRu 4 As 12 decreases monotonically down to 2.3 K , then shows a jump due to the superconducting transition. The electronic specific heat coefficient γ of PrRu 4 As 12 , determined from high temperatures, is estimated to be ∼ 100 mJ / K 2 mol . The value of γ in PrRu 4 As 12 is close to that in LaRu 4 As 12 . The electronic entropy determined from the experiment is only ∼ 10 % of R ln 2 .
