Toward vibronic control of organic superconductivity

Abstract Theory of vibronic coupling is applied to the problem of superconductivity in organic materials. Both the orbital motion of electron and the electron correlation are dressed through vibronic interaction with nuclear vibration. This is not observed in the adiabatic treatment where only the static interaction with clamped nuclei and self-consistent field of electrons is considered. In particular, the dressed electron correlation plays an important role for the new mechanism of electron pairing, which may even lead to superconductivity. Some model compounds are examined in order to find out the properties of the fundamental vibronic interaction.
