ABSTRACT Some modification ofthe YBaCuO phase analysis method using the Raman spectra is proposed. It is based not only on theanalysis ofthe corresponding Raman band maxim positions, as usually, but on the analysis of the integral contours of thesebands as well. The 400-500 cm region of Raman spectra of the YBaCuO single crystals was studied for this purpose. Theproposed method was realized in original PC-program, which allows fulfilling an express, non-destructive and local phasecontrol for 1ff SC samples. This work was sponsored by RFBR (Russia), project 97-0247954 and partially by Japan Society for the Promotion ofScience. Keywords: Raman spectrum, phase analysis, sintered integral contours, YBaCuO, HTsuperconductor. 1. INTRODUCTION One ofthe reason that discovery of High Temperature Super Conductor (FIT SC) materials more than 10 years ago did notproduced yet the expected revolution in science and technology is by our opinion not enough strong efforts to get puresamples of materials. As example, micro analysis of of one of the most stable and typical 1ff SCrepresentative material YBaCuO used to showed the presence of clusters of many phases of this material including semiconducting one. One of the possibilities to produce the material with homogeneous distribution of best super conductingphase only is to use in its technology the good enough method of control. We present here the short description of some modification of Raman analysis method that could be used in such atechnology after additional development. It was suggested for the control in the studying of new approach in HT SC
