Structural optimization for modulation efficiency enhancement in a top-gated graphene optical modulator

We investigated a top-gated graphene optical modulator on a CMOS compatible silicon photonic platform. The structural optimization results revealed that the modulation efficiency is able to reach to 0.05 dB/μm with very low insertion loss.
