Pipeline Labeling Algorithm with Parallel Calculation of Gravity Center on FPGA
Description
Hardware acceleration is one of the techniques to improve processing speed and it is often used in the field of image processing. Because each processing such as image processing filters and feature extractions are usually independent. In this work, the hardware acceleration for the object tracking system was simulated and compared to software processing. Hardware-based labeling and calculation of gravity center shows the high performance than the software-based design. Additionally, these hardware-based modules were implemented on FPGA. In this paper, we shows the detail of the architecture.
