Efficient ID transmission method in RFID networks
Description
Radio Frequency IDentification (RFID) is a technology that identifies objects using radio frequency technology. In RFID networks, the means of transmitting and processing an identifier (ID) of each object is extremely important. This paper proposes an new method of transmitting IDs efficiently that uses the network address of the processing server as a part of the ID of an RF tag, so allowing direct forwarding to the processing server and thus greatly reducing the processing time and processing load. It is also proposed to adopt a virtual network address for use as a part of the ID, in order to allow flexible adaptation to a change in the location of the processing server. Moreover, this paper demonstrates how to implement the proposed method into a real network, assuming use of a wide-area Ether network.
