説明
By heating a fine amorphous CdS precipitate with KCl powder, the precipitate become a crystalline, the specific surface area decreased and the photocatalytic activity for hydrogen production from 1 mol dm−3 Na2SO3 solution was enhanced. The effects of experimental factors such as the molar mixing ratio of KCl to CdS, heating temperature and heating time on the photocatalytic activity and the specific surface area were investigated. The most active CdS photocatalyst, superior to any as-received, highly active CdS that can be purchased in Japan, was obtained by heat treatment for 8 h with a mixing ratio of 0.5 at 450°C. Its quantum yield at 460 nm was 0.035 at 25°C.
